The Federation of Norwegian Agricultural Co-operatives has approx. 25 employees who work with industrial policy, training and development and communication on behalf of the member organizations and their owners.

Areas of responsibility:
Food and Innovation
- Preparing and communicating a common policy on food safety for Norwegian agriculture.
- Developing and coordinating research-based innovation processes.
- Farmer’s Market: Direct selling of local food from the producer to the consumer. You can find the Farmer’s Market in town squares and other similar places at a total of 23 different locations around the country ( www.bondensmarked.no ).
Industrial Policy
- Reporting on problems related to industrial policy.
- Monitoring and informing on international regulations of importance to Norwegian agriculture and food industry (includes office in Brussels).
- Administering common operating credit for farmers.
Communication
- Strategic communication for the Federation of Norwegian Agricultural Co-operatives.
- Risk management.
- Contact with the press.
- Publications.

Training and Development
Offering events and services to employee representatives and employees with the aim of building competence, such as conferences and courses. Examples of course content:
- International communication and understanding.
- Agricultural policy and international regulatory framework.
- The co-operative as an organization and form of business organization.
- Being on a board.
- Being on a nominating committee or control committee.
The department is also responsible for organizing foreign aid on behalf of the member organizations.
